Long Beach Pet Services

We want to help keep Long Beach pet’s looking and feeling their best, and we want pet owners feel satisfied that they’ve gotten a great deal from a grooming service.

Whether you own a dog, a cat, or some other furry creature we know that cosmetic maintenance can be a chore.  We hope that you will find reliable listings for professional and efficient groomers in the area.

We know your pet is considered a true part of the family and so you only want the most competent care for them.  Grooming pets takes steady hands and skillful techniques, as well as the ability to handle potentially dangerous situations involving claws, teeth, scissors, and razors.  A pet must feel comfortable in the hands of a groomer to allow them to bather them in water and cut their fur without squirming.  To find a person who can do this there are a few simple guidelines.

References from friends, pet professionals, and satisfied customers are one good way to start.  Ask others which grooming service providers they go to, and from whom they have received superior service.   Some veteraniarians may not want to make direct recommendations about a specific groomer, but there are ways to get information.  When you find a groomer in our listings who seems good, ask the vet questions about whether they have encountered problems with pets who were groomed there.  Or ask the vet if they have received complaints about a certain groomer.Cats Sleeping

Once you have chosen a promising groomer, give them a call to get some preliminary information.  Ask plenty of vital questions.  Find out where they got their grooming training and whether they are a professional groomer or someone who does grooming on the side.

Ask how long they have been involved in the profession. Inquire about their experience with your pet’s breed or species.  Ask them if they are able to do specialty non-standard type clip jobs, this will tell you how skilled they are.  Do they belong to a professional groomers association?  There are several respected state and national associations for groomers and members are screened for quality and experience.

Also inquire as to the certifications of the groomer in the area of flea and tick removal and prevention.  If they are short on time answer all of these questions ask them if they can call you back when there is more time to talk.  If they are professional and want your business they should be happy to get back to you at a later time.  Once you’ve done your research then bring your pet in for an appointment and if the facility seems clean and well-run trust your gut feelings and let the groomer serve your pet.
